As a Palm Springs engagement photographer, every time I’m there, it feel like a little vacation getaway. Between the palm trees, colorful bougainvillea, Spanish-style architecture, mountain views, and endless sunshine, it’s one of the most romantic places in Southern California for engagement photos.
This session perfectly captured everything I love about photographing couples here. Natural movement, genuine laughter, and photos that feel effortless.
A Romantic Engagement Session in Palm Springs
From the moment we started walking through the property, every corner offered something completely different.
One minute we were surrounded by bright pink bougainvillea climbing over white stucco walls. The next, we found ourselves tucked beside a beautiful stone fountain that felt like something you’d discover in a hidden European courtyard.
One of my favorite things about Palm Springs is how much variety you can create without ever leaving one location.
Posing you Throughout your Session
One thing I always tell couples before their engagement session is that you don’t need to know how to pose.
Throughout every session I will guide you with prompts and poses so you get a good variety of traditional portraits but also photos that feel like the both of you.
Two Outfits, Two Completely Different Vibes
Changing outfits during your engagement session is one of the easiest ways to create variety.
For the first half of the session, they wore elevated casual outfits with warm earthy tones that paired beautifully with the Spanish architecture and vibrant flowers.
Later they changed into lighter California inspired outfits that perfectly matched the citrus grove and gardens.
Even though both outfits felt completely different, they still complemented the natural colors of Palm Springs and gave the gallery two distinct looks. I always recommend couples choosing two different outfits for their engagement session. Usually a dressier option and a casual outfit.
Why Palm Springs Is One of My Favorite Places for Engagement Photos
Palm Springs offers an incredible combination of romantic and relaxed California charm.
