A Minimal Studio Maternity Session in Detroit, Michigan
There’s something really special about Abigail and Drew’s studio maternity session. I’ve photographed their growing family for a few huge milestones. I photographed their engagement session, extended family session, Abigail’s sister’s wedding, pregnancy announcement and now maternity. I’m so blessed I get to keep being apart of all of these special moments for them. Knowing these two allowed this maternity session to be relaxed, intentional, and focused on connection.
For this studio session, we leaned into clean backdrops, natural movement, and soft light. No elaborate styling. Just the two of them, their growing baby, and the kind of closeness that doesn’t need direction.
I loved how effortlessly they showed up for this session. Bare feet, denim, simple tops. Nothing that felt forced or overdone. The ultrasound strip included in a few images was such a meaningful touch, quietly reminding us who this season is really about.
One of my favorite parts of studio sessions is the freedom they allow. Without worrying about weather or location changes, there’s space to really focus on emotion and connection.
If you’re expecting and drawn to imagery that feels natural, relaxed, and true to you, a studio maternity session might be the perfect fit.
If you’re interested in planning a maternity session in Detroit, I’d love to connect and help you create something that feels meaningful and effortless.
